I welcome the announcement from the Pembrokeshire Association of Community Councils (PACC) to advertise to find Pembrokeshire's "Village Idiot", in time for the tourist season.
After all, if towns can have their town crier, its only fair that villages can have their village idiot.
According to the press release, the winner will be chosen at the Pembrokeshire County Showground at the end of the month in a contest similar to Britain's Got Talent. If you think you know anyone who is a "real" village idiot and will be an ambassador for the County, you have until noon today, to get your application to Olaf Prilo, Pembrokeshire Communities Co-Ordinator, County Hall, Haverfordwest. The application has to be accompanied by a cheque for £10, payable to PACC, to cover administrative costs.
I hope that Pembrokeshire gets the village idiot it deserves, but you havent got long to get your application to Olaf! ...
