Pregnant Man - update

May 25, 2008 – 3:14 pm
The Sun showed a picture of the man who is expecting a baby, shortly. I'm sorry, but whilst the person has what appears like an attempt at a beard, the rest still looks like a woman and he/she had the genitalia still, from when he was a woman. Medical science cannot make a woman into a man and vice versa.

Summer Here at Last? Swallows have arrived in Pembrokeshire

April 29, 2008 – 9:48 am
A year ago, I was on holiday in the Fens and the weather almost summer like.  Sunny and quite unseasonably hot for April.  TV showed people in the sea. This year, the weather is undecided whether its to be warm or to rain. However, going to Letterston to collect a Composting Bin I had got through Free Cycle Pembrokeshire,  I was pleased to see that the swallows have arrived, so presumably summer is around the corner. You cannot beat Pembrokeshire at this time of year.  The longer nights, temperatures getting warmer, NO holiday makers clogging the roads, but what is best of all, is the variety and colour of flowers that line many of the roads and lanes. I refer especially to bluebells. I remember the flowers beside the roads in Wiltshire, when I was a young lad, but coming to Pembrokeshire has mde me realise that the heavy traffic in Wiltshire has effectively ...

Pregnant Man ????

April 7, 2008 – 6:33 am
A man in the United States called Thomas Beatie has hit the news after the revelation that he is 6 months pregnant. I cannot understand all the hype as he was born a woman and when he had the sex change, he kept his female reproductive organs and he was artificially inseminated, hence the pregnancy. The law may recognise him as a man, but it is still not 100% possible for a man to become a woman and vice versa, so as Thomas Beatie still had "his" female reproductive parts, its not too surprising that he got pregnant.

BLUES to Win the FA Cup

April 6, 2008 – 6:05 pm
Its many years since the Blues won. Before the last war, actually. But as I was a student there for 4 happy years, I will have to support the Blues of PORTSMOUTH to win the FA Cup, next month. Whoever I support, loses, so dont worry if you are a Cardiff City supporter as they are now bound to win! Come on Pompey!

Can’t Even Win a Rigged Election

April 6, 2008 – 10:00 am
Its now over a week since the Zimbabwe election and Mugabe still hasn't been declared winner of the Presidential poll. As its been widely reported for many years that Zanu-PF do everything to rig election, it is amazing that the result STILL has not been declared. This gives the impression that despite millions leaving the country (mostly opposition supporters), Mugabe knows the result and its not good news for him and his party. The world look on and despite everyone looking forward to the end of one of the worst governments in recent history, Mugabe seems intent on retaining control of this country that has gone from being the bread basked of Africa, to being a food importer.  Inflation is over 100,000% and life expectancy is now the lowest of any nation in the world. White Rhodesia under Ian Smith was shunned (rightly so) by the world, but many in Zimbabwe must think ...

Why Sarah’s Law won’t work!

April 5, 2008 – 9:35 am
The red top papers relish in the fact that they support the introduction of Sarah's law (a UK version of Megan's Law, that they have in the US), whereby the public have the right to know of paedophiles in their locality. This week, the local media (newspapers, radio AND TV) have named a Pembrokeshire Headmaster who was suspended from his post, following one allegation of improper behaviour towards a child. Unlike the media, I will not name or say where the headmaster is from as the current law is an ass. A person is innocent in the eyes of the law, until proven guilty. However, when such "alleged" crimes are reported, you can understand how people will react. The neighbours may gossip that X is guilty and others may take it on their shoulders to attack him or his property, as feelings are so high when it involves ...

Village Idiot Contest for Pembrokeshire

April 1, 2008 – 8:18 am
I welcome the announcement from the Pembrokeshire Association of Community Councils (PACC) to advertise to find Pembrokeshire's "Village Idiot", in time for the tourist season. After all, if towns can have their town crier, its only fair that villages can have their village idiot. According to the press release, the winner will be chosen at the Pembrokeshire County Showground at the end of the month in a contest similar to Britain's Got Talent. If you think you know anyone who is a "real" village idiot and will be an ambassador for the County, you have until noon today, to get your application to Olaf Prilo, Pembrokeshire Communities Co-Ordinator, County Hall, Haverfordwest. The application has to be accompanied by a cheque for £10, payable to PACC, to cover administrative costs. I hope that Pembrokeshire gets the village idiot it deserves, but you havent got long to get your application to Olaf! ...

What Lost Hour In Bed?

March 29, 2008 – 8:35 pm
The clock goes forward an hour tonight, as we go into British Summer Time. On the radio, TV and in the street, everyone talks about losing an hour's sleep. I have never had that problem as I never put the alarm clock on, to wake me up on a Sunday.  So when I wake up, I wake up and no hour has been lost. PROBLEM SOLVED! SO WHY ALL THE FUSS???

NO, I am NOT Standing ….

March 29, 2008 – 8:07 pm
I would like to thank the 2 parties that approached me to stand in the forthcoming County Elections, but when I moved to Pembrokeshire, I promised myself then, that I will do my utmost to stay away from County and Community Council elections as a candidate.  As elections approach on 1st May, NOTHING has changed and I will NOT be standing, in case anyone thinks I am, or you have heard gossip.
